The sun shone into the first day of August to grace the green for the Woodlands leg of the annual friendly match. WPBC Captain Paul announced at the beginning of the day that a new trophy would be played for to commemorate recently passed members named The Whitton Trophy. Old and new members enjoyed 6 pairs game throughout the afternoon. Sheila and Tony’s game with Ray and partner was the longest for years at 2 hours 10 minutes.

The games were played in customary friendly fashion with good banter and skills throughout. Woodlands Park won out by 5 games to 1. The return leg will be held at Woodlands Park Green before the end of the month.
